10 Ways To Boost Your Energy

1) Exercise

Regular physical activity energises the body. It improves the oxygen supply to the brain and other parts of the body. Perspiration, helps us feel cleansed and revitalised. We tend to sleep better if we exercise regularly. To get real benefit, exercise for half an hour or more, 3~4 times a week.

2) Eat Light

Big meals put a great strain on the digestive process. Keep meals large enough to satisfy your appetite and not by eating as much as you can. Don't be a glutton.

3) ..... but Don't Skip Meals

Low blood sugar saps our physical and mental energy. While you may not be hungry, eating something at meal times - even just fruits - can help stabilise your blood sugar level.

4) Go Easy On Caffeine

Caffeine, found in coffee, tea and colas, certainly gives a quick lift, but it has a direct stimulatory effect on the brain and can wipe out the chance of getting quality sleep.

5) Drink Plenty Of Water

Food generates waste. With water, the body can rid itself of these waste products made during the process of creating energy.

6) Cut Down On The Booze

Alcohol is one of the things that can cause our blood sugar to soar, then plummet percipitously. That's partly why you often feel terrible the morning after a few drinks. It dehydrates the body and over time, weakens the liver.

7) Power Nap

A well-timed nap can do wonders for your energy levels and productivity. A good time to get some extra sleep is after lunch. 15 minutes is all you should need.

8) Sit Properly

Most people have a tendency to slump forward, which causes physical imbalance and discomfort. Make sure you are sitting comfortably. Choose a sturdy chair. Your hips and knees should be level, your feet placed comfortably flat on the floor. Position the back of your chair to give adequate support to your lower back.

9) Think Positive

Attitude can have a powerful influence on how dynamic we feel. Instead of focusing on the potential horror of the task at hand, concentrate on the feeling of satisfaction you can enjoy upon its successful completion.

10) Relax

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing. But that is just what some of us need every once in a while to give our body the opportunity to get back on its feet.
