Lesson 10 - Hosts/Banner Exchange

HOSTS / BANNER EXCHANGE

Now we've come to the last tutorial. Your HTML document should be ready by now. Double-check every spelling and code to make sure it would run properly once you downloaded it onto the Net. There are a few companies which offers free space for your homepages. You could visit each one and find out what they offer. Almost everyone would want you to place an advertisement one your page, as that's where they generate their income to sustain your free page. Here's a few websites you could go to and apply to become a member.
Geocities, Tripod and Angelfire

Once you've got your page up and running, you would probably like to keep an account on who's visiting your site and their comments. This is where a guestbook comes in handy. Some of those companies above have their own guestbook and counter services, but if you want something special and free just visit this site : BeSeen.com where you'll find free guestbooks, counters and other free stuffs!

If you think your website is good enough (which you should!), you could submit your URL address to search engines at Submit-It!. You could also design a banner and register yourself at LinkExchange who will place your banner on their advertisement boards. Through these ways you could promote yourself to every user on the Net! Good Luck!
