Life's Instructions
There are some things in life which you can't just take for granted. Here's a list of instructions which you cannot do without. I'll add more as time goes by.
Never laugh at anyone's dreams.
Believe in love at first sight.
Accept a breath mint if someone offers you one. (Phew!)
Rehearse a joke before telling it.
Don't let a little dispute injure a great freindship.
Once in a while invite the person in line behind you to go ahead of you.
Never be the first to break a family tradition.
Steer clear of any place with a 'Ladies Welcome' sign in the window. (Especially if you're with a girlfriend or wife)
Ask anyone giving directions to repeat them at least twice.
Don't stop traffic to pick up a coin.
Give people more than they expect, and do it cheerfully.
Someone will always be looking at you as an example of how to behave. (Don't let him/her down)
Do your homework and read your facts, but remember it's passion that persuades.
When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and say,"Why do you want to know?".
Overestimate travel time by 15 percent.
Don't be overconcerned with your rights that you forget your manners.
Don't dismiss a good idea simply because you don't like the source.
When you say,"I'm sorry", look the person in the eye.
No matter how old you get, hug and kiss your mother whenever you greet her.
Pray. There's immeasurable power in it.
Remember that everyone is influenced by kindness.
Be bold. Providence loves boldness and will assist you in ways you couldn't imagine.
Never continue dating anyone who is rude to the waiter.
The 5 most essential words for a healthy relationship: "I apologise" and "You are right".
Pull over for the idiots and let them pass, even when you're going pretty fast already.
When baking, follow directions. When cooking, go by your own taste.
You learn something new every day if you pay attention.
Believe in miracles but don't depend on them.
Remember, it's not your job to get people to like you, it's your job to like people.
Make sure you leave something in this world besides clothes, a nice house and loads of cash.
And here's one that my Mum has added:-
Hold your child's hand every chance you get. The time will come when he/she won't let you.
